Cilest

Cilest – A Reliable Combined Oral Contraceptive Pill

One of the most reliable forms of contraception, Cilest is one of a group of medicines collectively referred to as ‘the pill’. The tablet is available in a convenient, easy-to-take course that provides 99% prevention against unplanned pregnancy after unprotected sexual intercourse.

Combined contraceptive pills contain synthetic versions of the two hormones that control and regulate the female menstrual cycle, in order to essentially ‘trick’ the body into preventing pregnancy. Whilst no contraceptive pill is completely effective, the odds of falling pregnant are significantly reduced and, if combined with barrier protection such as a condom, conceiving a child is very unlikely.

By taking Cilest regularly, women around the world are liberated into having a healthy sex life with almost complete peace of mind.

Cilest Benefits

Fundamentally, Cilest works to dramatically reduce the chance of a woman falling pregnant. In case studies, this tablet is proven to work in more than 99% of cases – for every one hundred women who use the tablet as prescribed, less than one of them will fall pregnant.

There are some additional benefits to taking Cilest that have also been identified. Sufferers of endometriosis, a painful condition where cells grow on organs around the womb, can use this pill for treatment, as can women who suffer from unpredictable or particularly heavy and painful periods.

Does Cilest Work And Stop Conception?

The female menstrual cycle takes place every 28 days, helping the body to prepare for the possibility of conceiving a child. Halfway through this process, an egg is released from the ovaries and begins to travel towards the womb via the fallopian tubes. If sperm reaches this egg, the egg can become fertilised and attempt to bed itself into the womb lining to begin its growth. This is how pregnancy begins. If the egg remains unfertilised at the end of the 28 days, it is removed from the body along with the womb lining – this is a period.

This process is controlled by the levels of two hormones in the body, oestrogen and progesterone, which fluctuate throughout the 28 day cycle. As an example, before ovulation occurs, the levels of progesterone in the body are lowered.

Cilest is a combined contraceptive pill, or combination pill, meaning that it contains a combination of two substances. These are synthetic versions of oestrogen and progesterone respectively, called ethinylestradiol and norgestimate. By artificially causing the levels of oestrogen and progesterone to become higher, the pill makes the body alter three factors – no egg is released, mucus thickens around the cervix to prevent sperm entry and the lining of the womb thins to prevent the bedding of an egg.

Together, these factors greatly reduce the chance of becoming pregnant.

Who Can Take Cilest?

Cilest is offered to women over the age of 18 who are looking for a way to reduce the likelihood of conceiving a child, as well as to some women who experience very heavy or painful periods.

Who Should Not Take Cilest?

Cilest should not by used by any woman who is pregnant or thinks that they may be pregnant. In addition, the tablet is not usually to be taken by anybody with a history of or high risk of circulation problems, blood clots, or some forms of cancer. When you complete your free consultation to order Cilest, our doctors can help to determine if this contraceptive pill is right for you.

How To Take Cilest.

Cilest is dispensed in a dosage of 0.25mg/35mcg, meaning that each tablet contains 0.25mg of ethinylestradiol and 35mcg of norgestimate.

Ideally, you should begin taking the tablet on the first day of your period, which is the start of your menstrual cycle. This means that you are immediately protected against pregnancy. You can begin taking the pill anything up to five days into your period, although in these instances you should also use a form of barrier contraception such as a condom for the first seven days.

Continue by taking the tablet every day at approximately the same time, with or without food. This process will carry on for 21 days, after which you should stop taking the pill and have a seven day break, in which you are still protected. During this break, you may experience light bleeding, known as a withdrawal bleed. After the seven day break, begin the next course of Cilest.

Cilest is most effective when taken at the same time every day, but if you miss a dose you have a window of 12 hours in which you can take the tablet and still be covered. If you miss your tablet and do not remember until after 12 hours, you should resume the course but also seek barrier contraception such as a condom for the next seven days.

Cilest Side Effects

As with any prescription medication, some mild side effects have been reported in some women using Cilest, although the doses of the active ingredients in the tablet are low enough to make this unlikely. Some women may experience headaches, weight gain, breast tenderness, nausea or abdominal cramps as their body adjusts to the medication, although these effects should pass as you continue to use the pill. If you are concerned about any of these side effects or they persist, stop taking Cilest and contact your doctor.
